Case 31

Male child, age 8 years-old, presented with failure to thrive. He was found to have pancytopenia and hepatosplenomegaly. Bone marrow aspiration done elsewhere was reported to be nonspecific hyperplasia. Splenectomy was done. Images of gross and microscopy findings are presented.

Case 30

  Male child aged 3 years presented with frank hematuria. A polypoid mass was found in the bladder on cytoscopy, which was excised. The images show H&E sections at 10x (a), 20x (b, c, d, e) and 40x (f, g).

Case 29

  This is a 22 year-old young female patient who had recurrent episodes of abdominal pain. Some "lymph nodes" were found in the left iliac fossa, which were excised. All slides are stained with H&E.

Case 28

  A 3 month old male child was brought to the hospital with failure to thrive and refusal of feeds. On examination he had massive hepato-splenomegaly. Otherwise there seemed no obvious neurological impairment. Case 25
  This is a 7-year-old girl with clinical history of fever for 3 months. She was given a course of Cifrofloxacin as a treatment for Typhoid Fever, and a course of antimalarials (Chloroquin/Primaquin). Case 24
  The patient is a 27 year old male who presented with history of fever and enlarged neck nodes for the last 2 weeks. On examination there were matted lymph nodes in the left upper deep cervical region. FNA of the lymph nodes was performed and the cytological preparations were stained with MGG. |

  An eight year old boy presented with a painful swelling over the sternum and a solitary lytic lesion in the skull. Mild hepatosplenomegaly, moderate anemia and a raised ESR were other notable findings. Case 11
   Six month old male child with pica (compulsive eating of nonnutritive substances), presented with moderate hepatomegaly and raised liver enzymes. Icterus was present and hyperbilirubinemia was predominantly of conjugated type. Liver biopsy was done and five representative images from H&E slides, taken with a digital camera Olympus DP10, are presented.
