HISTORY:

65 year old man. Cancer just at OGJ (oseophago-gastric junction). Oseophago-gastrectomy subsequent to neo-adjuvant chemotherapy. Pre-chemo stage was a T2 tumour.

Gross findings Oesophagogastrectomy specimen shows a firm polypoid tumour measuring 80 mm longitudinally and 12 mm across at the gastro-oesophageal junction. The tumour extends distally into the stomach for a distance of 4mm with the bulk of tumour at the junction. On slicing, the tumour infiltrates through the muscular wall. It is approximately 1 mm from the circumferential margin at the left anterior aspect of the oesophagus. Digital images from the junctional cancer.
