HISTORY:

78 year old lady. Oesophago-gastrectomy after neo-adjuvant chemotherapy for junctional cancer (Gastro-oesophageal junction).

Gross findings An oesophago-gastrectomy specimen pinned onto a corkboard. The oesophageal portion measures 110 mm in length. The open gastric portion measures 100 x 55 mm. There is a fungating tumour situated right at the gastro-oesophageal junction extending both into the stomach and oesophagus. The tumour measures 32 x 22 x 14 mm. The rest of the oesophageal and gastric mucosa is unremarkable. Digital images from the junctional cancer.
