Case 7A
HISTORY:
42 year old man. History of appendicitis/appendicular mass.
Gross findings: A kinked appendix, whitish in colour with adhesions on the surface measuring 85 x 20 mm. Cut surface of the appendix shows fibrous tethering of the wall in the distal third of the specimen. No pus is identified. Digital images of the abnormal region.
Case 7B
HISTORY:
15 year old girl. Grossly inflamed appendix.
Gross findings: An appendiceal specimen with an inflammatory exudate on the surface measuring 60mm in length. The wall thickness is 3mm and the lumen contains pus.
