I received 14 replies which were as follows.. Strumal carcinoid - Four replies Struma ovari with papillary carcinoma - Five replies Benign teratoma with thyroid tissue and ? granulosa cell tumor - One Struma with Yolk-asc tumor - One Struma ovari - Two Malignant teratoma with mixed pattern - One
We at AILM made a diagnosis of Fig A (Gross) shows colloid areas reminiscent of thyroid gland. Figs B-E show thyroid tissue with colloid filled follicles. Fig F shows rather tall cells with abundant granular cytoplasm. The height of these cells exceeds twice their width and hence they would qualify for the description of being "Tall". The granular cytoplasm supports this. In fig G, the rounded structures are in fact cut sections of hair shafts. I could not get a better area for demonstration of teratoma component (my apologies).
