Case 16

HISTORY: Male aged 50, bilateral axillary and R supraclavicular lymph node enlargement. Biopsy from supraclavicular lymph node. All slides are stained with H&E staining.

A total of 23 responses were received:

- 20: Castleman's Disease (Angio-follicular, hyaline vascular type)
- 01: Sarcoidosis
- 01: Metastases
- 01: Non-hodgkin's Lymphoma Mantle zone type

This Case was diagnosed as Castleman's disease (Angio-follicular hyperplasia - hyaline vascular type). The sections reveal organized lymphoid tissue comprised of follicular aggregates of mature lymphoid cells. At the centre of each of these follicles, a blood vessel is seen, surrounded by a zone of hyalinization. Granulomas are not seen.
